Richard Carmona Supports Paying For ObamaCare By Raiding $716 Billion From Medicare.

PHOENIX - When Richard Carmona supported President Obama’s healthcare bill, it was paid for by over $700 billion in cuts to Medicare. These devastating cuts took over $200 billion from Medicare Advantage, $150 billion from hospitals and nursing homes and $40 billion from home healthcare.

Additionally, President Obama’s own campaign recently bragged that they slashed billions of dollars from a program that so many seniors in Arizona depend on.

As CBS’s Face The Nation reports:

OBAMA CAMPAIGN SPOKESWOMAN STEPHANIE CUTTER:"You know I heard Mitt Romney deride the $700 billion cuts in Medicare that the president achieved through health care reform.” (CBS’s"Face The Nation,” 8/12/12)
"It’s quite simple, Richard Carmona supports taking $700 billion from Medicare to pay for his job-killing healthcare bill,” said Arizona Republican Party spokesman Tim Sifert. "Arizonans deserve a leader – like Jeff Flake – who will work to protect Medicare for current and future generations.”
