Democrat Richard Carmona Supported ObamaCare

Obama & Carmona’s Healthcare Law Raises Taxes, Kills Jobs and Hurts Arizonans

PHOENIX – After securing the Democrat nomination for U.S. Senate – thanks to the fact that he was personally recruited by President Obama – Arizonans are realizing that Richard Carmona was a fierce support of ObamaCare.

President Obama and Richard Carmona’s healthcare law cut $700 billion from Medicare, raised taxes on families and small business owners by over $500 billion and forced every Arizonan to purchase health insurance.
"As Arizonans get to know Democrat Richard Carmona, they’ll quickly realize that he supported President Obama’s healthcare law that cut Medicare and raised taxes on Arizonans,” said Arizona Republican Party spokesman Tim Sifert."With nearly 250,000 unemployed Arizonans we need a Senator, like Jeff Flake, who is focused on creating jobs, instead of one like Carmona whose first priority is to defend ObamaCare.”

"Carmona served as the 17th surgeon general of the United States under President George W. Bush. Last year, he participated in series of health care town halls that the congresswoman held in Tucson, Sierra Vista and Green Valley. ‘The issue facing our country is how do we get the best care for the most people at the least cost,’ Carmona said. ‘We spend more for health care than any other nation on Earth, but the metrics of our results don’t reflect that. We need to move toward a health care system, not the sick care system that we have today. This legislation moves us closer to that. This bill is not perfect. But these are complex issues and we must move forward. And then I hope we can sit down with level heads and make it even better for the benefit of the American people.’” (“U.S. Rep. Wednesday's Convention Theme: "We Can Change It"

Tampa, Fla. - Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus today announced the theme and speakers for Wednesday, August 29, the third night of next week's 2012 Republican National Convention. The theme, said Priebus, will be "We Can Change It."

"We want to remind Americans that we don't have to settle for four more years of high unemployment, low pay and deep debt," Priebus said. "We will devote Wednesday night to showing the country that Mitt Romney's 'Plan for a Stronger Middle Class' will restore our country as the best place in the world to find a job, start a business or hire a worker."

Priebus said the Wednesday night program "will show that the Romney approach is both optimistic and achievable." The Romney plan will work toward energy independence, ensure that middle-class Americans have the skills to succeed, pursue trade that works for America, cut the deficit and champion small business.

"Having suffered through the longest sustained period of high unemployment since the Great Depression, Americans already know we can do better," said Republican Convention CEO William Harris. "Next Wednesday, Republicans will lay out Mitt Romney's plan to do just that."

Carmona Steps Up Praise for ObamaCare, Gutting of Medicare

Carmona Wants to End Debate, Ignore Cost to Taxpayers, and Just Do it Obama’s Way

PHOENIX – Richard Carmona, a Tucson Democrat recruited last year to run for the U.S. Senate by President Barack Obama, yesterday reiterated his strong support for ObamaCare and said he was"disgusted” by those still debating the fairness of this new program and the harm it would cause to seniors. ObamaCare, also called the Affordable Care Act, is expected to drain more than $700 billion from Medicare to pay for much of Obama’s program. Republicans in the U.S. House have repeatedly voted to repeal ObamaCare, but the Democrats who narrowly control the Senate will not allow a vote to take place.
"President Obama recruited Richard Carmona to run for the Senate because ObamaCare is just one of the items on their liberal agenda they need to keep Republicans from having input on,” said Arizona Republican Party spokesman Tim Sifert. "Obama doesn’t want his Democrats to lose control of the Senate, so he’s stepped heavily into Arizona politics trying to shore up liberal candidates like Richard Carmona who are pledged to support him.”

BACKGROUND ...

Carmona"disgusted” by Debate "...said the public should be as "disgusted" as he is at how politicized the debate has become.” (Bruce Christian,"Senate Candidate” Echo Magazine August 2012)

But Without Debate and Action Medicare is Going Bankrupt
Changes Made To Medicare Under ObamaCare Are"Not Viable In The Long Range”
"Further, while the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, as amended, makes important changes to the Medicare program and substantially improves its financial outlook, there is a strong likelihood that certain of these changes will not be viable in the long range.” (2010 Annual Report Of The Boards Of Trustees Of The Federal Hospital Insurance And Federal Supplementary Medical Insurance Trust Funds)

Medicare Trustees: Trust Fund To Be Exhausted In 2024
The Annual Report From The Medicare Trustees Reports That The Medicare Trust Fund Will Go Bankrupt Five Years Earlier Than Previously Predicted:"However, the HI trust fund is now estimated to be exhausted in 2024, 5 years earlier than was shown in last year's report, and the fund is not adequately financed over the next 10 years. HI taxable earnings in 2010 were lower than previously estimated, and the rate of growth in these earnings is projected to accelerate and to exceed last year’s growth assumptions in 2011-2019. HI expenditures in 2010 were close to the previous estimate, but the projected level grows more rapidly than shown in last year’s report because of the projected faster growth in earnings. HI expenditures have exceeded income annually since 2008 and are projected to continue doing so through the short-range period until the fund becomes exhausted in 2024. In 2010, $32.3 billion in trust fund assets were redeemed to cover the shortfall of income relative to expenditures.” (2011 Annual Report Of The Boards Of Trustees Of The Federal Hospital Insurance And Federal Supplementary Medical Insurance Trust Funds)

Carmona Wants His Way Regardless of Cost
"I don't care what we call it or how we get there, as long as we can come up with a something that ensures that everyone has access to healthcare; that's the humane thing to do." (Bruce Christian,"Senate Candidate” Echo Magazine August 2012)

New Report Highlights Latest Evidence Of Obama-Carmona's Failed Economic Policies.

Years Of Reckless Spending Now Driving Country Off A Fiscal Cliff

PHOENIX – Last month the top Senate Democrat leaders overseeing Richard Carmona’s campaign for Senate made clear their willingness to allow the country to go over a"fiscal cliff” unless their demands for massive tax hikes were met.

But yesterday a new report from the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) also made clear that as a result of the Democrats’ reckless tax-and-spend policies, we are already headed in that direction. The report shows that the economy would go into a recession and unemployment would increase if the Democrats’ proposed small business tax hike and massive defense cuts are put into effect. "This report is just the latest evidence that the failed economic policies trumpeted by Richard Carmona and President Obama are driving our country over a fiscal cliff,” Arizona Republican Party spokesman Tim Sifert said today."Under the Obama economy, we’ve now had 43 straight months of unemployment above 8 percent, a skyrocketing debt hitting $16 trillion, and four straight years of trillion dollar deficits. This report is yet another big wake-up call that Arizona simply can’t afford Carmona and Obama’s failed economic policies,” Sifert concluded.

According To The CBO, Federal Debt Held By The Public Will Reach The Highest Levels Since The 1950s. "Federal debt held by the public will reach 73 percent of GDP by the end of this fiscal year-the highest level since 1950 and about twice the 36 percent of GDP that it measured at the end of 2007, before the financial crisis and recent recession." New CBO Report If Barber Won’t Stop The Tax Hike, Deep Recession and Skyrocketing Unemployment will Ensue.

Expect Devastating Economic Conditions if Barber is Able to Push America Off Cliff.

WASHINGTON --- Today, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) confirmed small business owners and workers’ worst fears – that the fragile economy would plummet into a recession and unemployment would skyrocket even more if Ron Barber has his way. Barber has already voted to push the economy off a cliff, but is this new report enough to convince him to stop his party’s job-crushing tax hikes on job creators and families?
"This report proves that Ron Barber's job-destroying tax hike plan is an economic disaster for Arizona small business owners and hardworking families,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay."Is Barber going to finally listen and stop the tax hike before his irresponsible agenda drives our economy into another recession with national unemployment above nine percent?”

Ron Barber voted against stopping his party’s disastrous tax increases in 2013. (H. R. 8, Roll Call 545, 8/1/2012)

A new report by the CBO said that Washington Democrats’ plan to impose tax hikes on job creators and businesses will force the economy to tank and the unemployment rate to spike:
"Tax increases and spending cuts from the ‘fiscal cliff’ would send the U.S. economy into a recession and drive the unemployment rate up to 9 percent by the end of 2013, according to fresh forecasts from the Congressional Budget Office.” (“CBO: Cliff Would Cause Recession, National Journal, 8/22/2012)

However, Democrats may not be listening because they already think their failed, reckless agenda has ‘worked:’
"Just like we’ve tried their plan, we tried our plan -- and it worked. That’s the difference,’ [said Obama].” (“Remarks by the President at a Campaign Event,” The White House, 7/24/2012)

Significant 1996 Bipartisan Welfare Reform Accomplishments Targeted for Reversal by Obama Administration

HHS abandons strict work requirements to qualify for benefits

PHOENIX – As today marks the 16th anniversary of landmark welfare reform legislation passed by a Republican Congress and signed by Democrat President Bill Clinton in 1996, it’s a good time to remind voters that in this election our country faces a stark contrast between Mitt Romney and those who support the current program requiring welfare recipients to work or get job training, and President’s Obama’s new push to dismantle welfare-to-work and drop the program’s strict work requirements.

At the center of the 1996 welfare reform was the creation of work participation requirements mandating that states show at least half of its welfare recipients were either working or receiving work-related training. If a state fell below that threshold, it could lose its federal funding. The result of the requirement was that millions of welfare recipients went back to work and welfare cases dropped dramatically.

But last month the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services issued a memo that changed the policy and offered waivers of the work participation requirements to states that might propose different ways of measuring the success of welfare assistance. In fact, work requirements were written into the bipartisan 1996 agreement as a non-negotiable prerequisite for states to receive federal funding.

With this memo, the Obama Administration announced it has the power to ignore those requirements. Mitt Romney, however, has pledged to rescind the memo and make clear that work requirements are not optional.
"Welfare reform stands as a major bipartisan accomplishment, but President Obama still insists on having his liberal way and trying to grow a culture of dependency on his government hand-outs,” said Arizona Republican Party spokesman Tim Sifert. "And it’s part of the Obama-Carmona plan either to unilaterally ignore the law, or to simply eliminate any opposition.”

Also today the Republican National Committee released a video"Never Happenened” shedding light on what America would be like if Barack Obama had his way with welfare -- fewer paychecks and more welfare checks.

Ron Barber Voted to Put 15 Unelected Medicare Cutters Between Seniors and their Doctors.

[Resent id=23102068 2012-08-22 17:16:02 from azgop] A Rationing Board will Control Future Medicare Growth, Treatments

WASHINGTON --- Ron Barber continues to defend ObamaCare’s hugely unpopular Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) that risks access to vital care and raises health costs for seniors who have paid into Medicare for their entire working lives. Arizona seniors need to know that Ron Barber is threatening their access to care merely to appease President Obama’s big-government agenda in Washington instead of defending their earned right to Medicare.
"Ron Barber thinks 15 unelected bureaucrats are better suited to make healthcare decisions than nearly 50 million American seniors and their doctors,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay."After slashing over $700 billion to Medicare in order to pay for ObamaCare, Barber's support for a Medicare rationing board adds insult to injury for current and future Arizona seniors.”

"Never Happened"

WASHINGTON - On the 16th anniversary of Welfare Reform, the Republican National Committee is out with a new web video "Never Happened" shedding light on what America would be like if Barack Obama had his way with welfare--fewer paychecks and more welfare checks.

"If President Obama had his way, there wouldn't be a work requirement in welfare," said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. "President Obama would prefer people to stay dependent on government assistance, instead of providing them with the help they need to get back to work. It's clear President Obama's approach to getting America working again is failing miserably as record numbers of people are on welfare. It's time we change direction and elect the Romney-Ryan ticket that will restore the work requirement to welfare and get America back to work."

Richard Carmona Joins Gang of Eight Owing Big Favors to Harry Reid If Elected

Carmona Competes For Campaign Cash From Top Senate Liberal Harry Reid’s PAC Fund

PHOENIX – A PAC established by one of the nation’s topmost liberal U.S. Senators, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, chose eight liberal Democrats, including Richard Carmona of Arizona, to join him and President Obama in a quest to prevent the Senate from voting to repeal Obamacare. Reid has offered to help raise funds for the candidate who can provide him with the most email addresses.
"The prize in this odd contest is a special fundraising email from Harry Reid, which will certainly shore up any candidate’s liberal credentials, even though Carmona’s been doing that just fine all by himself,” said Arizona Republican Party spokesman Tim Sifert. "The problem is that Arizona needs a senator who will work for us, not someone like Richard Carmona who simply supports the liberal agenda of a Democrat party boss like Harry Reid.”

Carmona and Obama Embrace Futility As Arizona Republicans Widen Lead by 30,000 Voters

Republicans Now Outnumber Democrats by 178,000

PHOENIX – Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett has released a report showing that 36% of Arizona’s three million voters are registered Republicans, with Democrats falling far behind at 30% of the electorate. Republicans outnumber Democrats 1,113,123 to 935,098 Democrats, a difference of 178,025 voters. In October 2011, when Democrat Richard Carmona decided to run, the advantage was 149,281.
Republicans also hold every statewide executive branch office and a supermajority in the legislature.
"When President Obama recruited Democrat Richard Carmona last year to run for Senate, they both ignored some key facts about Arizona voters who are now running away from the liberal policies of Obama and Carmona,” said Arizona Republican Party spokesman Tim Sifert. "With Obama’s lawsuit against Arizona, his failure on the economy and 8% unemployment, Obama’s drafting of Richard Carmona to run in such a heavily Republican state is another sign they’ve both seriously misjudged Arizona’s voters.”

Democratic Leadership In Washington And Arizona Pushed Carmona To Run
"Obama's re-election campaign and other national Democrats have expressed confidence that a strong Carmona candidacy could help them carry the traditionally red Arizona in the presidential race -- a possibility that national Republicans are quick to dismiss as ridiculous.” (Dan Nowicki, USA Today/The Arizona Republic, March 29, 2012)

Only In America

President Obama's gutting of the work requirement in welfare reform keeps people in a cycle of dependency on government. This is the story of Danny Vargas. He grew up on welfare, yet eventually became a business executive and community leader. In this country, the outcome may not be guaranteed, but the opportunity is.

releases "Willing"

@RNC WASHINGTON - The Republican National Committee releases "Willing" as President Obama thinks he can side step the increasingly negative tone of his campaign. While claiming that no one called Governor Romney a felon, President Obama conveniently forgets that on a conference call his own Deputy Campaign Manager did just that.

"It's sad how far the 2008 candidate of 'hope and change' has fallen," said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. "While sitting idly by as his allies propagate baseless allegations about Governor Romney in an attempt to 'kill' him, President Obama had a chance yesterday to stand up and denounce these attacks at his press conference. Yet, he chose to continue denying these claims were ever made, even though one of his senior advisors is at fault. The 2008 Obama wouldn't even recognize the 2012 Obama--he's just another typical politician."

Democrat Richard Carmona, Recruited Directly by President Obama, Suddenly Has No Opinion on Gov. Brewer's Executive Order

PHOENIX – While the biggest campaign story last week was the Obama Administration’s attempt to curry favor with Latino voters through temporary and limited deportation deferrals, Governor Jan Brewer’s competing Executive Order reinforcing Arizona’s existing ban on public benefits for illegal immigrants led to a curious response from Democrat Richard Carmona, candidate for U.S. Senate.

Carmona, recruited to run by President Barack Obama and asked Friday by a television reporter about Brewer’s order, had nothing to say.
"Richard Carmona became a Democrat and got into the race because the President asked him to, and immigration was going to be the topmost issue in their plan to increase support among Latino voters, which included suing Arizona over SB 1070,” said Arizona Republican Party spokesman Tim Sifert."But Carmona has now gone flat on this issue, he knows he’s running uphill and needs to lighten the load by dropping his unpopular political baggage as quickly as possible. What kind of leadership is that?”

BACKGROUND ...
"...Democratic Senate Candidate Richard Carmona says he doesn’t have an opinion on Republican Governor Jan Brewer’s order to block certain immigrants from getting public benefits.” (Dennis Welch,"Good Evening Arizona 6PM” 3TV, www.azfamily.com, 8-17-2012)

Richard Carmona Previously Strongly Opposed Arizona’s Illegal Immigration Reforms
"He Also Said He Doesn’t Look Fondly On State Laws Aimed At Illegal Immigrants. ‘That’s A Federal Responsibility,’ Carmona Said. During the last election in 2010, Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer signed Senate Bill 1070, which ordered police here to enforce immigration laws. That move propelled her to any easy win against Democratic Attorney General Terry Goddard. Carmona said some conservative calls for deportation of illegal immigrants already in the U.S. is mean-spirited and unrealistic.” (Mike Sunnucks,"Carmona Hopes Independent Streak, Life Story Resonate In Senate Race,” Phoenix Business Journal, 1/23/12)
"I looked at where the Republican Party was on certain issues in my state, like on women’s health, on immigration, some of the educational issues, I really couldn’t align with them there, and the fact is that the Democratic Party was more closely aligned with where my values were on key issues in our state,” (Interview with Juan Williams,"Richard Carmona on Immigration and Elections” Fox News Latino, June 27, 2012)

Sheriff Joe Arpaio to Address Western State GOP Convention Delegates in Tampa

PHOENIX – Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, one of the nation’s most sought-after Republican speakers will address a large audience of Republican National Convention delegates from western states at a special reception with elephants at the Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa, Florida on August 30th.
"Sheriff Joe is a good friend and a great Republican, a former member of the Electoral College representing Arizona, and he’s wildly popular not just in Maricopa County but throughout the state and the country,” said Tom Morrissey, Chairman of the Arizona Republican Party. "He’s done a lot for the Republican Party already and we’re overjoyed that as always he is willing to join us as we visit some of our ‘fellow elephants’ while in Tampa.”

The event is invitation-only.

BACKGROUND:

The symbol of the Republican Party is the elephant. During the mid term elections in 1874, Democrats tried to scare voters into thinking President Ulysses S. Grant would seek to run for an unprecedented third term. Thomas Nast, a cartoonist for Harper’s Weekly, depicted a Democratic donkey trying to scare a Republican elephant – and both symbols stuck. For a long time, Republicans have been known as the"G.O.P.” with party faithful believing it meant the"Grand Old Party.” But apparently the original meaning (in 1875) was"gallant old party.” When automobiles were invented it also came to mean,"get out and push.” That’s still a pretty good slogan for Republicans who depend every campaign year on the hard work of hundreds of thousands of everyday volunteers to get out and vote and push people to support the causes of the Republican Party. Medicare Going Broke Carmona's Support of Obama Agenda Bad for Arizona Seniors

PHOENIX – Just as Democrat Richard Carmona answered the call from President Obama who asked him to run for the U.S. Senate, Carmona is backing ObamaCare which is funded by taking more than $700 billion out of Medicare. Recent reports show Obama’s fiscal mismanagement and failure to plan will cause Medicare to run out of money by 2024.
"President Obama said Medicare ‘is a big nightmare’ and based on his lack of a plan and failure of leadership, we’re never going to wake up from it,” said Arizona Republican Party spokesman Tim Sifert."Obama actually raided more than $700 billion from Medicare to fund ObamaCare, and he’s out recruiting more Democrats like Richard Carmona to make sure it stays that way.”

The Republican National Committee today released an online timeline to count down the days until 2024 when Medicare will be bankrupt.

BACKGROUND ...

RNC releases new ad - "Serious Questions"

President Obama just wrapped up another hard-hitting interview where he discussed America's top concerns, like whether our president prefers green or red chiles, his take on "Call Me Maybe," and what superpower he wished he had. Majority of Americans Think Medicare is"Very Important” Issue, But @RonBarberAZ Cut It Anyway AZ02

Arizona Dem Took Over $700 Billion from Medicare to Pay for ObamaCare

WASHINGTON --- In a recent poll, an overwhelming majority of Americans – 73 percent – said Medicare is ‘very important’ or ‘extremely important’ when they are choosing who to vote for. This isn’t welcomed news for Ron Barber, who voted to gut Medicare for current and future seniors to fund his big-government takeover of healthcare.
"Ron Barber has already proven his unwillingness to protect Medicare for current seniors, so Arizona seniors aren’t going to protect him,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay."This poll is further proof that Barber's choice to cut over $700 billion from Medicare for current seniors was the breaking point for many Arizona families and seniors.”

Washington Democrats’ massive Medicare cuts have put them in an unpopular position:
"The nonprofit Kaiser Family Foundation said on Thursday that 73 percent of respondents polled in the days around the announcement described Medicare as ‘very important’ or ‘extremely important’ to their votes.” (David Morgan,"U.S. voters see Medicare as a top election issue: poll,” Reuters, 8/16/2012)

RNC Announces Record July Fundraising Heading Into November

WASHINGTON - The Republican National Committee raised $37.7 million in the month of July--the best July in the history of the committee. The RNC currently has $88.7 million cash on hand.

"Once again, the RNC has set a monthly fundraising record, illustrating the tremendous enthusiasm for a new direction in this country," said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. "Both small and major donors have contributed to our fundraising success as they continue to express their support for Gov. Romney and our party. This money allows us to get our message out to voters across this country on the ground and on the air. This momentum will carry us to victory in November, when we defeat President Obama and get America working again."

2008 Jan-July $130 million
2004 Jan-July $134 million

RNC Launches Obama’s Countdown to Medicare Bankruptcy Timeline

WASHINGTON – The Republican National Committee launches"Countdown to Medicare Bankruptcy Timeline” marking the time until the Medicare Trust Fund is exhausted and highlighting the timeline of President Obama’s own promises and words. Medicare is on track to go bankrupt in 2024 and while Governor Romney and Congressman Ryan have solutions, President Obama has offered zero plans to fix one of America’s greatest problems and has touted $716 billion dollar cuts to the program as an ‘achievement.’

Check out"Countdown to Medicare Bankruptcy Timeline” at:

gop.com/countdowntobankruptcy
"As with many things, Barack Obama came to the White House in 2008 promising to reform Medicare. Instead, he is the only president in history to cut the program by over $700 billion to help fund ObamaCare. By his own admission Medicare ‘is going broke,’” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus."The president should have listened to his own words when he said that ‘we should have a serious conversation about Medicare and its long-term liability.’ We cannot continue down this path to Medicare bankruptcy.
"Americans have a clear choice this November. From Day One, Governor Romney and Congressman Ryan will provide the country with a plan that will put Medicare on a sustainable path to protect the program for current seniors and continue to strengthen it for future generations.”

Obama Recruited Richard Carmona As Part of Democrats' Election-Year Ploy to Sway Latinos

PHOENIX – As federal immigration authorities in Arizona begin today to implement the Obama Administration’s new"deferred action” immigration plan, Arizonans should be reminded that in addition to suing Arizona for enforcing immigration laws, the Obama Administration also previously injected itself into Arizona’s political landscape when Barack Obama personally called Richard Carmona to urge him to run for office and become one of Arizona’s U.S. Senators. Arizona Republican Party Chairman Tom Morrissey yesterday called Obama’s plan to sway Latino voters a"sad campaign ploy.”

In June, Obama announced a new policy to allow young illegal immigrants that meet certain criteria to apply for temporary"deferred action” or an exemption from deportation from the federal government.
"Congress already rejected this half-hearted immigration reform, so President Obama did an end-run around Congress to buy time to get more Democrats like Richard Carmona elected,” said Tim Sifert, spokesman for the Arizona Republican Party. "Obama and his Democrats have a record on immigration that is as bad as their record on jobs and the economy, and simply putting another Democrat like Richard Carmona in the mix is not the solution.”

BACKGROUND:

President Barack Obama & Democrat Leader Harry Reid Personally Recruited Richard Carmona

If @RonBarberAZ Has His Way, Medicare Will Be Broke in 12 Years AZ02

Arizona Dem Chooses Politically Toxic ObamaCare Over Protecting Seniors’ Medicare

WASHINGTON --- Roughly 50 million American seniors rely on Medicare to provide them with health coverage that they may not be able to afford otherwise. However, Ron Barber is willing to jeopardize seniors’ access to coverage by gutting $741 billion from Medicare in order to fund his big-government healthcare takeover.
"Democrats’ slashing of Medicare was a major factor that led to their historic losses in the House in 2010, and that was when their cuts to the program were projected at $500 billion,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay."Now that the Medicare cuts are estimated at a devastating $741 billion, there is very little chance that Arizona seniors are going to continue to risk their healthcare on Ron Barber's government healthcare experiment for another two years.”

The latest CBO estimate for ObamaCare’s Medicare cuts are $741 billion – $240 billion more than they first estimated. (“Estimates for the Insurance Coverage Provisions of the Affordable Care Act Updated for the Recent Supreme Court Decision,” Congressional Budget Office, July 2012)

Medicare will go bankrupt by 2024, in merely 12 years. (Anjeanette Damon,"Beyond attacks, Heller and Berkley differ fundamentally on approach to Medicare,” Las Vegas Sun, 8/2/2012)

Democrat Whip Steny Hoyer conceded that it was ObamaCare that cost them the House majority in the 2010 midterm elections:
"’It was clearly a liability in the last election in terms of the public’s fear,’ House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) said Thursday during a briefing with reporters.” (Aaron Blake, "Study Shows Health Care Bill May Have Cost Democrats the House," The Washington Post, 3/9/2k012)

Gutting Medicare Paid for ‘One Third’ of Barber's Healthcare Takeover

Job-Destroying Tax Hikes and Medicare Slashes Are Funding ObamaCare

WASHINGTON --- Arizona seniors had no idea that their access to Medicare would be threatened when they need it most. However, this is exactly what President Obama allowed to happen when he and Ron Barber passed their big-government takeover of healthcare – that it would be funded by slashing Medicare and raising taxes on job creators.
"Arizona seniors and working families are under attack from every direction thanks to Ron Barber Barber's failed agenda,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay."If Barber isn’t going to look out for seniors’ Medicare or the economic stability of small businesses then he can be sure that they aren’t going to look out for him come November.”

Even President Obama admitted that one third of his disastrous big-government healthcare overhaul was paid for by cuts to seniors’ Medicare:

ABC’s JAKE TAPPER:"One of the concerns about health care and how you pay for it — one third of the funding comes from cuts to Medicare.”

RNC Releases Graphic "Mr. President, We Have A Few Questions"

WASHINGTON - The Republican National Committee is out with a new graphic "Mr. President, We Have A Few Questions" that includes 10 questions that President Obama needs to answer. It has been nearly eight weeks since he has taken questions from the White House press corps, yet he's had time to jet around the country raising money for his campaign. When will President Obama take responsibility for the economy and his staff's behavior and quit dodging the tough questions?

"America faces tough challenges with high unemployment and exploding debt, yet President Obama hasn't answered questions from the White House press corps in nearly eight weeks," said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. "His administration is also embroiled in controversy and his campaign will not own up to the outrageous rhetoric being peddled by the Obama Super PAC and Vice President Biden. Why won't President Obama take questions? Does he have something to hide? The American people deserve answers."

"While President Obama thinks cutting $716 billion from current seniors to pay for ObamaCare is a good idea, we don't think it's an 'achievement' at all," said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. We can turn this thing around. Real solutions can be delivered. But, it will take leadership. And the courage to tell you the truth.

Paul Ryan remarks in Norfolk

We Americans look at one another's success with pride, not resentment, because we know, as more Americans work hard, take risks, and succeed, more people will prosper, our communities will benefit, and individual lives will be improved and uplifted.

But America is more than just a place...it's an idea. It's the only country founded on an idea. Our rights come from nature and God, not government. We promise equal opportunity, not equal outcomes.

This idea is founded on the principles of liberty, freedom, free enterprise, self-determination and government by consent of the governed.

This idea is under assault. So, we have a critical decision to make as a nation.

We are on an unsustainable path that is robbing America of our freedom and security. It doesn't have to be this way.

Paul Ryan remarks in Norfolk

I represent a part of America that includes inner cities, rural areas, suburbs and factory towns. Over the years I have seen and heard from a lot from families, from those running small businesses, and from people who are in need. But what I have heard lately troubles me the most. There is something different in their voice and in their words. What I hear from them are diminished dreams, lowered expectations, uncertain futures.

I hear some people say that this is just "the new normal." High unemployment, declining incomes and crushing debt is not a new normal. It's the result of misguided policies. And next January, our economy will begin a comeback with the Romney Plan for a Stronger Middle Class that will lead to more jobs and more take home pay for working Americans.

America is on the wrong track; but Mitt Romney and I will take the right steps, in the right time, to get us back on the right track!

President Obama, and too many like him in Washington, have refused to make difficult decisions because they are more worried about their next election than they are about the next generation. "Arizona small businesses cannot afford Ann Kirkpatrick's party’s plan to impose new tax hikes in 2013,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay."Only 27 percent of voters believe the country is on the right track but will Kirkpatrick head in the wrong direction and have Obama’s back?”

Twenty-seven percent of Americans believe Washington Democrats have moved the economy in the right direction. (“Right Direction or Wrong Track,” Rasmussen Reports, 8/8/2012)

No matter how unpopular Obama’s failed economic agenda is, Nancy Pelosi refuses to sever ties between him and Congressional Democrats:
"’We have [Obama’s] back. We are his most enthusiastic supporters,’ [Pelosi] said.” (Mary Lu Carnevale,"Pelosi on Obama: ‘We Have His Back’”, Wall Street Journal, 2/5/2009)

However, Obama deliriously claims that his party’s plan ‘worked’:
"Just like we’ve tried their plan, we tried our plan -- and it worked. That’s the difference,’ [said Obama].” (“Remarks by the President at a Campaign Event,” The White House, 7/24/2012)

Team Obama Caught in Another Lie! ObamaLies

The Republican National Committee releases "What Else?" as President Obama's campaign continues to lie about its relationship with the disgusting ad put out by President Obama's Super PAC. After refusing to denounce the lies and distortion of the ad, the Obama campaign repeatedly claimed it had no idea about Joe Soptic's story even though they had him tell the same story during an OFA conference call earlier this spring. So, their actions beg the question--what else are they lying about?

Priorities USA Has An Ad Featuring A Former Steelworker Who "Appears To Blame Romney For the Death Of His Wife." "Joe Soptic, a former steelworker, makes yet another appearance in a pro-Obama ad, this time for the Super PAC Priorities USA Action. We have examined this case before, and for the benefit of readers we repeat our main points from an earlier column that awarded the Obama campaign One Pinocchio for the use of this case study against presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney. Most controversially, Soptic this time appears to blame Romney for the death of his wife after he lost his health insurance when the steel plant closed." (Glen Kessler, "New Anti-Romney Ad: Same Steelworker, Tougher Message," The Washington Post's "FactChecker," 8/7/12)

("Pro-Obama Super PAC Defends Controversial Ad," CNN, 8/8/12)

Obama Press Secretary Jay Carney Refused To Comment On The Ad: "I Speak For The President. I Do Not Speak For A Third-Party Organization." "Well, I'll simply say that I haven't seen the ad but I have read about it. And I speak for the President. I do not speak for a third-party organization. This was in the context yesterday of a discussion about the categorically false and blatantly dishonest advertisement from the Romney campaign -- not a third-party group -- from the Romney campaign with regards to the President's policy on welfare reform." ( White House Press Gaggle , 8/8/12)

Obama Campaign Advisor Robert Gibbs "Declined To Criticize A Super PAC Ad That Suggests Mitt Romney Indirectly Caused A Woman's Death." Gibbs: "This Is An Ad By An Entity That's Not Controlled By The Campaign." GIBBS: "This is an ad by an entity that's not controlled by the campaign. I certainly don't know the specifics of this man's case. I do think there is a lot of concern in the country about what happens when people lose their jobs." (MSNBC's "Morning Joe," 8/8/12)

"Stephanie Cutter, Obama's Deputy Campaign Manager, Also Declined To Condemn The Priorities Ad, And Used A Question About It To Shine A Negative Light On Romney's Business Record." (Kevin Cirilli, "Robert Gibbs Mum On Priorities Bain Ad," Politico, 8/8/12)

Cutter: "You Do Know That We Don't Have Anything To Do With Priorities USA." CUTTER: "You do know that we don't have anything to do with Priorities USA. By law, we're not allowed to coordinate with them, and by law, we don't have anything to do with their ads. I don't know the facts of when Joe's wife got sick or when she died." (CNN's "Starting Point," 8/8/12)

Obama Campaign Press Secretary Jen Psaki: "I Can't Speak To The Ad." CNN's WOLF BLITZER: "Do you want to associate or disassociate yourself with this pro-Obama Super PAC ad?" PSAKI: "Well, Wolf, As you know, we have about as much to do with Priorities ads as we do with Michael Phelps winning gold medals last week. I can't speak to the ad." (CNN's "Situation Room," 8/7/12)

The Ad's Star Previously Appeared In Another Obama Attack Which " Strains The Obama Campaign's Evasiveness"

Joe Soptic, The Star Of The Priorities USA Ad, Was Featured In An Obama Ad In May That Called Romney A "Vampire." "Joe Soptic, the star of a new Priorities USA Action ad attacking Mitt Romney and a former employee of GST Steel, implies that Romney killed his wife - but it's not the first charge he's leveled at the presumptive Republican nominee. Soptic was featured in the controversial ad aired by the Obama campaign in May that called Romney a 'vampire' - a charge that drew condemnation from Democrats, including Newark Mayor Cory Booker." Time's Mark Halperin: "The Distinction The Obamans Are Trying To Draw Between A Super PAC Ad And A Campaign Ad Are Meaningless ... They Could Publicly Call For It To Be Pulled Off The Air." "And the distinction the Obamans are trying to draw between a super PAC ad and a campaign ad are meaningless in this case. The campaign didn't make the ad, but they could publicly call for it to be pulled off the air if they wanted it snuffed out. They aren't, and they don't." (Mark Halperin, "Why The Obama Super PAC Ad Is Different," Time, 8/8/12)

MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski: "They're Not Telling The Truth." "There's no price to pay, because they can say 'Well, I don't know the details.'
