WASHINGTON --- Across-the-board cuts would severely threaten our national security but Kyrsten Sinema's Democrat allies have voted to use them as a political pawn so they can get the job-destroying tax hikes they want (Roll Call #8, 8/1/2012). Sinema and her party are doing everything to distract voters and increase their election chances, from denying that the cuts will happen to offering defense contractors incentives to break the law and not hand out pink slips days before the election.

Phoenix, AZ – Just two days after President Clinton held a rally at UC Davis in California for several Congressional Democrat candidates, he came to Arizona and snubbed radical leftist Kyrsten Sinema at ASU.
It’s not surprising, since Carmona said he won’t endorse Sinema, even though he endorsed another Arizona Democrat Congressional candidate. Earlier this year, President Clinton endorsed Sinema’s primary opponent.
"It’s the ultimate snub and a stinging rebuke of her radical leftist agenda, for former Democratic President Bill Clinton and Democratic Senate hopeful Richard Carmona to exclude Sinema in the heart of this Congressional district,” said Alyssa Pivirotto, Parker Communications Director.
"The question everyone is asking: why wasn’t she invited? If Sinema was the uniter she claims to be you would think she could at least get her fellow Democrats to stand with her,” concluded Pivirotto.
In 2000, Sinema worked for radical Ralph Nader over liberal Al Gore, and ran against the Democrats in 2000 and 2001, protesting that Democrats were too moderate, that they"had moved too far to the center.”

PHOENIX – Congressional candidate Kyrsten Sinema today continued her stonewalling over her past career as a criminal defense attorney as her state legislative record reveals a politician more interested in standing up for convicts than for Arizona families.
Sinema in 2007 introduced H.B. 2678, a bill that would have established a process to release criminals on a medical parole (48th Legislature, prisoners; medical parole). Shockingly, Sinema’s bill did not allow for the felon’s victims to make a statement before the parole board or enter a victim impact statement for the record.
"When it comes to protecting her constituents, Kyrsten Sinema comes up woefully short,” said Sharon Giese, Arizona Republican National Committewoman"Before releasing a dangerous criminal back onto the streets, shouldn’t the victims get a say? In her rush to please her far left base, Sinema turned her back on crime victims. While it might be a blow to her get-out-the-vote strategy, thankfully, convicts can’t vote.”
Victims’ rights advocates have long cited the victim impact statement as a critical element in protecting the interests of victims. In fact, their use dates back to a 1992 U.S. Attorney General report on recommendations for protecting victims’ rights. The report states that judges should "Provide for hearing and considering the victims' perspective at sentencing and at any early release proceedings." (United States. Office of the Attorney General. Combating Violent Crime: 24 Recommendations to Strengthen Criminal Justice. 1992. p. 50.)

In 2009, you were one of five state representatives to vote against a bill (SB 1253) that adds drive by shooting to the list of specified felonies that are subject to the felony murder classification. This measure was passed in bipartisan fashion 50-5.
In 2007, you were the Prime Sponsor of HB 2278, a bill to end the death penalty for murderers and rapists. Luckily your bill wasn’t passed.
In light of your pronouncements of support for murderers I ask you to immediately release your entire client list of any murderers you have represented or currently represent.

Vernon Parker Releases Plan to Get Economy Back on Track. AZ09
Phoenix, AZ – Today Republican Congressional candidate Vernon Parker released his plan to get the economy back on track and get Americans back to work. The plan is not an esoteric approach to economics. It’s a practical approach – an approach devised after Parker spent weeks speaking with small business owners and CEO’s throughout the Valley. The plan illustrates what those business people have said is necessary to allow them to grow and hire.

"In radical leftist Kyrsten Sinema’s new ad she claims to be a friend to moms but called them ‘leeches,’ and Sinema claims she protects kids but voted to kick 280,000 of the neediest Arizonans off of Medicaid. FACT: According to a January 20, 2011, Arizona Daily Star article,"State Senators Kyrsten Sinema and Olivia Cajero Bedford voted Thursday to allow a bill to move forward that would authorize the state to ask for a Medicaid waiver request from the federal government.”
FACT: According to a April 13, 2012, Phoenix New Times article, Sinema said"’These women who act like staying at home, leeching off their husbands or boyfriends, and just cashing the checks is some sort of feminism because they’re choosing to live that life. Vernon Parker Accepts Debate Invitation in CD-9 Race. AZ09
Phoenix, AZ – Congressional Republican Candidate Vernon Parker will go head-to-head with his Democratic opponent in a televised debate next month hosted by Channel 8 Horizon. The forum will provide an opportunity for Parker to outline his plans and goals for CD9 and to juxtapose his position with Democrat Kyrsten Sinema’s radical leftist agenda.
Just last week, Sinema challenged Vernon Parker to a debate about education. And while Parker believes education should be a pivotal element of the debates, he does not believe it should be the only element. Parker believes voters in CD9 deserve to know where both candidates stand on the issues important to them, including how both candidates plan to get the economy back on track and Arizonans back to work.
Below is the letter sent from the Parker campaign in response to Sinema’s challenge.

Thank you for your letter on September 18 requesting a debate on television. Today I have informed KTVK and KPNX that I will participate in their proposed debates.
I sincerely look forward to debating you on all of the issues including education.
As you know, during your time in the Arizona Legislature our kids have continued to fail at the basics. According to NAEP only 32% of Arizona 4th graders are proficient or advanced in reading skills, and only 35% are proficient or advanced in math skills. That means our education system is failing nearly 70% of our kids. It’s appalling.
However during your time in the Legislature you focused your energy on passing"medically accurate” sex education, in fact you introduced this legislation nearly every year. While I agree sex education is important, even more important is to teach our kids to read, write, and do math. I believe the people of Arizona would agree with me.
Sadly for Arizona kids, this is just another example of you putting your radical agenda above their needs.
I support educational choice, bringing innovation to the classroom, holding teachers accountable, ensuring funding is protected for public schools, protecting and increasing Pell Grants and making sure money destined for the classroom isn’t wasted by Washington bureaucrats. In Congress, I will work to reform NCLB as it clearly is broken, and push for constant testing which will allow for immediate remediation so that our kids can get the educational intervention they need and don’t fall drastically behind. I will enumerate even more priorities I have for education reform in the weeks to come.

Ridiculously Misleading! DCCC Ad Uses a Facebook Page"Like” for Justification in False Attack in AZ09
Phoenix, AZ – Today, the Vernon Parker for Congress campaign reacted to the false and misleading ad created by the DCCC, which lied about Vernon Parker’s position on cuts to Medicare.
"I unequivocally oppose any plan to cut or replace Medicare. I have publicly and repeatedly stated this position throughout this campaign. To have the DCCC clearly lie about my record is another example of how desperate they are to fool the voters,” said Vernon Parker.
AD CLAIM: Parker touted a plan that would replace Medicare, leaving seniors at the mercy of insurance companies...costing them an extra $6400 a year...
But according to the DCCC’s own website, www.dccc.org/races/district/arizonas_9th their justification of making this attack, was that on Facebook, Vernon liked a comment about Paul Ryan.

Vernon Parker has never quit, overcoming massive odds to achieve success in his life. Vernon was born in abject poverty, lived in a drug-infested neighborhood and was raised by his grandmother who had to work her entire life just to put food on the table. Despite that, Vernon put himself through college and law school, built a successful career and dedicated himself to giving back.
