WASHINGTON --- Ron Barber continues to defend ObamaCare’s hugely unpopular Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) that risks access to vital care and raises health costs for seniors who have paid into Medicare for their entire working lives. Arizona seniors need to know that Ron Barber is threatening their access to care merely to appease President Obama’s big-government agenda in Washington instead of defending their earned right to Medicare.
"Ron Barber thinks 15 unelected bureaucrats are better suited to make healthcare decisions than nearly 50 million American seniors and their doctors,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay."After slashing over $700 billion to Medicare in order to pay for ObamaCare, Barber's support for a Medicare rationing board adds insult to injury for current and future Arizona seniors.”

Barber voted against repealing the board of 15 unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats. (H.R. 5, Roll Call , 3/22/12)

The latest CBO estimate for ObamaCare’s Medicare cuts are $716 billion – over $200 billion more than first estimated. (“Estimates for the Insurance Coverage Provisions of the Affordable Care Act Updated for the Recent Supreme Court Decision,” Congressional Budget Office, July 2012)
