The Tempe race for mayor is so tight residents will have to wait until Friday to find out whether Michael Monti or Mark Mitchell will be their new mayor.
Monti, with 10,394 votes, had a 222-vote lead compared with Mitchell who has 10,172 votes, according to unofficial election results late Tuesday.
