Kirkpatrick Supports ObamaCare’s Rising Costs, Medicare Cuts, Taxes, and Healthcare Decisions in Hands of Government

If You Don’t Want ObamaCare, Don’t Send Arizona Democrat Back to Washington

WASHINGTON --- When Ann Kirkpatrick voted for her party’s big-government takeover of healthcare she ignored the wishes of families, seniors and small businesses in Arizona. Now, the only way for Arizona voters to take back their healthcare choices is to make sure Democrats like Ann Kirkpatrick don’t return to Washington in 2013.
"Arizona families already let Ann Kirkpatrick know how they felt about her decision to champion the spiking premiums, $500 billion in Medicare cuts and job-killing taxes included in ObamaCare,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay."Arizona families cannot afford the damage ObamaCare is inflicting on our economy, and they can’t afford to send Kirkpatrick back.”

According to Gallup, far more Americans believe ObamaCare will hurt rather than help the economy:
"Americans are more likely to say the 2010 healthcare law upheld by the Supreme Court last week will hurt the national economy (46%) rather than help it (37%), while 18% say they don't know or that it will have no effect.” (Frank Newport,"Americans See More Economic Harm Than Good in Health Law,” Gallup, 7/5/2012)

Democrats have sacrificed much – including their House majority – for their massive government takeover of healthcare, and Americans are showing no signs of allowing government to expand control of their personal healthcare decisions:
"As the brutal fight continued, the president sacrificed more and more in its name: an overhaul of energy and environmental laws, greater focus on economic issues, some of his own popularity and that of House Democrats, who eventually lost their hard-won majority.” (Jodi Kantor,"Wearing Brave Face, Obama Braces for Health Care Ruling,” New York Times, 6/23/2012)

Obama Senior Adviser Dodges ObamaCare Tax Question

David Axelrod dodges Matt Lauer’s question on whether or not Obamacare is indeed a tax.
On The Today Show, Obama Senior Adviser Dodges ObamaCare Tax Question. NBC’s MATT LAUER:"The good news is the Supreme Court said the mandates are constitutional. the bad news is they say they are a tax. back in 2009 the president adamantly denied that health care reform ways going to be a tax on the american people. does he now agree this legislation, this law is a tax.” DAVID AXELROD:"Whatever you call it, matt, whether a mandate or tax, what it is is a penalty on the very few americans who don't -- who can afford health care, don't pay for it, end up in our emergency rooms getting free care and we all pay for it in the form of premiums.” LAUER:"Whatever you call it is important. In an election year and coming out of a recession if it's called a tax, it's going to hurt.” (NBC’s Today Show, 6/29/12)

Rep Ben Quayle Introduces Constitutional Amendment to Stop Deceptive Use of Congressional Taxation Authority

WASHINGTON (DC) – Congressman Ben Quayle released the following statement after introducing a constitutional amendment to ensure that taxes passed by Congress are labeled as such during the legislative process. Obamacare was upheld by the Supreme Court on the basis that the individual mandate fell under Congress’ right to lay and collect taxes, even though the mandate was never labeled a tax by the bill’s proponents.
"Most Americans figured out long ago that President Obama had attempted to sell them a bill of goods with Obamacare. Yesterday, the Supreme Court confirmed it. The President stated clearly, and on multiple occasions that the individual mandate was not a tax as he sold it to Congress and the American people. However, he was more than happy to see the Supreme Court uphold the law on the basis that it is in fact a tax.
"My amendment requires that all taxes levied by Congress be labeled honestly and openly as taxes during the legislative process. The American people deserve to know the full implications and consequences of legislation passed by Congress. Yesterday’s Supreme Court decision illustrated plainly the dangers of deceptive labeling by our leaders.”

Confirmed Kirkpatrick's Party’s Healthcare Takeover is a ‘Big F***ing’ Tax

Supreme Court Decision Verifies What Arizona Families Always Feared, the Worst Tax of ObamaCare is Yet to Come

WASHINGTON --- Ann Kirkpatrick's party’s massive government takeover of healthcare is still the law of the land and continues to burden our fragile economy. The individual mandate – that the majority of Americans wanted gone – will add heavy taxes to middle class families. Will Ann Kirkpatrick support another weight on her constituents?
"The spotlight is on Ann Kirkpatrick now that the Supreme Court confirmed what Arizona workers already knew, that her party’s healthcare takeover would increase taxes on Arizona families,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay."The only way to make sure that these taxes don’t do permanent damage on families’ finances and on businesses ability to grow is to make sure Kirkpatrick isn’t allowed to come to Washington in 2013.”

The Supreme Court’s decision ruled ObamaCare’s individual mandate to be a tax on the American middle class:
"The Affordable Care Act’s requirement that certain individuals pay a financial penalty for not obtaining health insurance may reasonably be characterized as a tax.” (Chief Justice John Roberts, 567 U.S. ____(2012), Supreme Court of the United States, 6/28/2012, p. 44)

However, President Obama was adamant that the mandate would not raise taxes on American families who are already dealing with degraded quality of care and less choices through ObamaCare:
"’No. That's not true, George. The — for us to say that you've got to take a responsibility to get health insurance is absolutely not a tax increase...,’ [said President Obama].” (“Obama: Mandate Is Not A Tax,” ABC News, 9/20/09)

When the Democrats’ big government healthcare takeover was signed Vice President Biden had a candid moment:
"Vice President Joe Biden ...dropped an F-bomb on live television when he turned to Obama and said, ‘This is a big f***ing deal.’” (“ ‘A Big F---ing Deal’: Biden’s Health Care Reform F-Bomb On Live TV,” Huffington Post, 5/23/2012)

Carmona's ObamaCare Can't be Fixed, Must Be Repealed

(PHOENIX) – After helping the Obama Administration create ObamaCare, Richard Carmona and his fellow liberal Democrats are now facing calls for the budget-busting law to be repealed. Arizona voters will have a chance in November to send responsible leaders to Congress and the White House who understand the damage this law will do to our economy.
"ObamaCare is still a wild, over-reaching attempt to regulate every aspect of our lives,” said Arizona Republican Party spokesman Tim Sifert."It defies common sense thatDemocrat Richard Carmona would support the heavy-handed policies of the Obama Administration that so many of his potential constituents find abhorrent.”

BACKGROUND ...
"As The 17th Surgeon General Of The United States (2002-2006) And Chairperson Of The Partnership To Fight Chronic Disease (Www.Fightchronicdisease.Org), I Have Been Working For Nearly 2 Years With The Presidential Candidates’ Policy Teams To Help Ensure That Health And Health Care Were Among Their Top Policy Considerations.” (Richard Carmona,"Reform Requires A Transformation,” Family Practice News, 1/1/09)
"Today, I Continue That Effort With President-Elect Obama’s Staff, Focusing On Health Care Reform.” (Richard Carmona,"Reform Requires A Transformation,” Family Practice News, 1/1/09)
"An Important Part Of Health Care Reform Will Include A Basic Set Of Benefits For All Americans, Regardless Of Their Socioeconomic Status.” (Richard Carmona,"Reform Requires A Transformation,” Family Practice News, 1/1/09)
"We have many respected thought leaders in this country who understand the factors that contributed to our current predicament.” (Richard Carmona,"Reform Requires A Transformation,” Family Practice News, 1/1/09)
"We Need To Bring Them Together And Have Them Figure Out A Way To Accomplish The Goal Of Ensuring That All Americans Have Access To A Set Of Basic Health Services.” (Richard Carmona,"Reform Requires A Transformation,” Family Practice News, 1/1/09)

In March 2010, Giffords Cited Carmona In Announcing Support For ObamaCare, Quoting Carmona:"We Need To Move Toward A Health Care System, Not The Sick Care System That We Have Today. This Legislation Moves Us Closer To That. This Bill Is Not Perfect. But These Are Complex Issues And We Must Move Forward.”"Carmona served as the 17th surgeon general of the United States under President George W. Bush. Last year, he participated in series of health care town halls that the congresswoman held in Tucson, Sierra Vista and Green Valley. ‘The issue facing our country is how do we get the best care for the most people at the least cost,’ Carmona said. ‘We spend more for health care than any other nation on Earth, but the metrics of our results don’t reflect that. We need to move toward a health care system, not the sick care system that we have today. This legislation moves us closer to that. This bill is not perfect. But these are complex issues and we must move forward. And then I hope we can sit down with level heads and make it even better for the benefit of the American people.’” (“U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords Announces Support For Historic Health Insurance Reform Legislation,” Congresswoman Giffords Press Release, 3/20/10)
