NRCC’s releases new ad in Arizona, highlighting Ann Kirkpatrick’s total lack of integrity. AZ01

NRCC COMMENT:"Arizonans fired Ann Kirkpatrick because she wasted their money on ObamaCare, the failed stimulus and bonuses for her political aides. Now she’s trying to get back in power by deceiving the public.” – NRCC Spokesman Daniel Scarpinato

ICYMI Fox 10 "Aced Again" - Ann Kirkpatrick A No-Show for AZ01

Jonathan Paton appeared on Fox 10's Newsmaker Sunday program with respected newsman John Hook yesterday to talk about the race for Arizona's First District and the issues that are important to the voters, such as job creation. Hook is widely respected in Arizona and nationally, having been invited to interview President Obama.

Jonathan hoped to get the chance to appear with Ann Kirkpatrick. She refused. As John Hook explains in the opening, Kirkpatrick refused to even be interviewed separately. She wouldn't do an interview via Skype or Phone. She's also turned down requests from other television stations, as many of you know.

You can see the opening of the show where Hook talks about his invitation here:

To watch the entire interview here: www.myfoxphoenix.com/story/19875838/newsmaker-sund...paton

Here is what Jonathan Paton had to say about Kirkpatrick's continued refusal to talk to the voters on camera:

"One of the basic roles of a member of Congress is to actually communicate with real live people. I can't imagine why Ann Kirkpatrick refuses to be interviewed on camera, except that she knows her plan to continue supporting Obamacare and trillion dollar deficits isn't what the voters want. No wonder she doesn't want to talk about her plans on camera." -- Jonathan Paton

ICYMI Big news Washington Post moves CD-1 from "Leans Dem" to "Tossup." AZ01

The Washington Post's Chris Cilliizza, who ranks U.S. House races all over the country, just moved the race between Jonathan Paton and Ann Kirkpatrick for Arizona's First District from being "Leans Democratic" to "Tossup".

Given recent polls showing Paton ahead, and major newspaper endorsements from the Arizona Republic, Arizona Daily Star, and Casa Grande Dispatch, Paton is poised to win this race.

Here is what Cillizza had to say:

* AZ-1 moves from"lean Democratic” to"toss-up”

Former congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick (D), who is trying to win a district with a slight GOP lean, just got passed over for the Arizona Republic’s endorsement."We have seen more complete meltdowns in our board meetings, but never one so unexpected,” the paper said of Kirkpatrick. Republican Jonathan Paton has a good shot here.

Ann Kirkpatrick makes the "Bonus Bunch" - 10 Most Corrupt Democrats of 2012. AZ01

NRCC Releases Latest"Corrupt Democrat” Video: "The Bonus Bunch”
The Story of Four Politicians Who Thought They Could Do And Spend Whatever They Wanted

Washington --- Today, the National Republican Congressional Committee released its newest Corrupt Democrats video featuring former Representatives Ann Kirkpatrick (AZ-01), Carol Shea Porter (NH-01), Dan Maffei (NY-24) and Charlie Wilson (OH-06) for their over-the-top spending abuse. Even after being booted out of office by voters, these Democrats splurged -- spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on salary increases and bonuses to their staffs.
"Voters have had enough of over the top spending sprees from House Democrats that have increased taxes and driven the economy deeper into debt,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay."When will these corrupt Democrats realize that their days of treating taxpayer dollars like Monopoly money are up?”

Jonathan Paton releases new ad"Words” AZ01

Kirkpatrick said she wouldn’t second-guess the president, and her record reflects it

Jonathan Paton released a new ad today that holds Ann Kirkpatrick accountable for supporting ObamaCare, while showering her staff and campaign aides with more than $100,000 in taxpayer-funded bonuses.
"Ann Kirkpatrick voted for ObamaCare and rubber-stamped the failed policies coming out of Washington that have hurt our economy, stifled job creation and added to our debt,” said Jonathan Paton."It’s important that our next representative serves as a check-and-balance on the executive branch, no matter if the president is Republican or Democrat.”

It was also revealed by the Arizona Republic that after being voted out of office in 2010, Kirkpatrick spent more than $100,000 on bonuses to her staff in her final 48 hours in office. She even brought campaign aides onto her official staff and used taxpayer dollars to reward them.

You can view the ad here:

Script as follows:

I’m Jonathan Paton and I approve this message.
Ann Kirkpatrick... "...I completely support what the President did with the Affordable Care Act"
We know...
Kirkpatrick voted for ObamaCare...
...cutting Medicare by $716 billion
...empowering 15 unelected bureaucrats to deny seniors care
While Kirkpatrick showered her staff and campaign aides with"more than $100,000” in taxpayer-funded bonuses.
Ann Kirkpatrick:
"I’m not going to second-guess the president..."
Yeah, we know.

NRCC - Ann_Kirkpatrick's wasteful ways. AZ01

The NRCC is up with a new ad in Arizona revealing to voters Ann Kirkpatrick’s wasteful record.

NRCC COMMENT:"Ann Kirkpatrick was unelected after she supported ObamaCare and $13 billion worth of earmarks. But that didn’t stop her from doling out $100,000 in taxpayer money to her staff.” – NRCC Spokesman Daniel Scarpinato

Script:

ANNOUNCER: The last time Ann Kirkpatrick was in Congress, she went on quite a spending spree.

Kirkpatrick voted for more than 9,000 earmarks at a cost of nearly $13 billion.

She voted for ObamaCare with a price tag of $1 trillion.

And when she lost, she doled out $100,000 in tax payer money to her staff.

Tell Ann Kirkpatrick, the party’s over.

Even Tucson Weekly calls Ann Kirkpatrick Ad attacking Jonathan Paton, "Simply False." AZ01

The Tucson Weekly – which has covered Rio Nuevo from start to finish – is calling Ann Kirkpatrick’s latest attack ad"phony” and its attacks"simply false.”
"Accusing (Paton) of being part of the group that wasted hundreds of millions of dollars is simply false,” the publication reports.

As the Weekly points out, Paton passed reforms to the board and was then appointed to help clean up the mess left by the city of Tucson and the original Rio Nuevo Board. Paton called for audits to determine where the $200 million was wasted.

Here is a comment from Jonathan on this false attack:
"Ann Kirkpatrick’s support in this district is plummeting as voters learn that she wasted more than $100,000 of taxpayer money on bonuses for her staff and campaign aides after being voted out of office in 2010. Now, she has no choice but to just make things up. This ad is a complete lie and speaks volumes about not only Kirkpatrick’s lack of character but also her understanding of the issues in the southern part of this district. I call on her to immediately take down what the Weekly describes as pure 'BS.'"

From the Tucson Weekly:

Tucson Weekly: CD 1 Air War: Kirkpatrick Levels BS Claim Against Paton on Rio Nuevo
"Paton called for audits of that spending while serving in the Arizona Legislature and pushed to see a new board formed that stripped control from the city of Tucson. By the time Paton joined the new Rio Nuevo Board following his resignation from the state Senate to pursue an unsuccessful bid for Congress in 2010, the Rio Nuevo Board members had stopped spending money on almost anything besides audits and attorneys.... You can be critical of the reformed Rio Nuevo board that Paton joined for filing lawsuits instead of pushing forward with repairs to the Tucson Convention Center, but accusing him of being part of the group that wasted hundreds of millions of dollars is simply false.” www.tucsonweekly.com/TheRange/archives/2012/10/05/...nuevo

Ann Kirkpatrick Remains Mum on Refund to Taxpayers in AZ01

$22,000 IOU still outstanding

Ann Kirkpatrick was quick to pay off her campaign staff with taxpayer money two years ago after losing her election. She hasn't been so quick with a response to a demand to reimburse the U.S. Treasury for her $22,000 taxpayer funded spending spree.

"I called on Ms. Kirkpatrick to repay taxpayers for money she spent to hire campaign staff in 2010," Congressional District 1 candidate Jonathan Paton said. "But much like when she refused to talk to constituents in Superior before her Obamacare vote, Ms. Kirkpatrick is remaining mum."

The Arizona Republic reported that Ms. Kirkpatrick hired at least three campaign staffers after she was defeated in 2010 and paid them $22,000 in the brief time between her defeat and leaving office.

"Ms. Kirkpatrick owes taxpayers a refund," Paton said. "It's time she thinks of hard-working Americans not just her campaign staff."

Ann Kirkpatrick's Party Starts the Fiscal Year with a Gift to Americans A $16 Trillion Debt. AZ01

Will Kirkpatrick's Party’s Spending Addiction Continue to

Spiral the Debt Out of Control?

WASHINGTON --- President Obama said at his inaugural speech that he would cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term. The deficit was at $1.3 trillion then and after Ann Kirkpatrick helped pass reckless spending packages like the nearly $1 trillion stimulus, the deficit remains above $1 trillion in Obama’s fourth year — pushing the debt over $16 trillion.
"Regardless of his promise, Obama has refused to end his party’s spending sprees and Ann Kirkpatrick supported him right along,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay."Kirkpatrick's $833 trillion stimulus has failed to get the unemployment rate below 8.0 percent and succeeded in delaying economic recovery. Arizona families can’t afford to fund her addiction again.”

Thanks to Washington Democrats, the last four years added over $5 trillion to our national debt:
"Shortly after his inauguration in January 2009, Obama pledged to cut the budget deficit, then $1.3 trillion, in half by the end of his first term.
"When fiscal 2012 ended at midnight Sunday, the outgoing 12-month yearly deficit was again $1.3 trillion — the fourth consecutive year it has exceeded $1 trillion.
"The deficits have helped push the national debt to a shade over $16 trillion, up from $10.7 trillion when Obama took office.” (Tom Raum,"Deficits to be hot topic in 1st debate,” Associated Press, 10/1/2012)

The White House promised the unemployment rate would be at about 5.6% by now with passage of their failed stimulus. (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Accessed 9/7/2012; American Enterprise Institute, 8/3/2012)

Time to tell @Ann_Kirkpatrick the party's over in AZ01

It's time to tell Ann Kirkpatrick the party’s over.

After Ann Kirkpatrick lost her bid for reelection in 2010, she snuck three campaign aides onto her congressional payroll. Then, she doled out $100,000 to her staff in her last two days in office.

NRCC COMMENT:"Arizona voters already told Ann Kirkpatrick that the party was over, but she kept on wasting their money anyway. It’s time for Kirkpatrick’s party to end, because Arizonans haven’t warmed to her blatant abuse of taxpayer dollars.” – NRCC Spokesman Daniel Scarpinato

Democrats’ Spending Fueled by Borrowing From China, And @Ann_Kirkpatrick's Stimulus Sent Jobs There AZ01

Democrats’ Stimulus Sent Jobs to China, Who Owns $1.15 Trillion of America’s Debt

WASHINGTON --- For each year of President Obama’s term, the national deficit has been over $1 trillion due to House Democrats like Ann Kirkpatrick voting for reckless spending policies like the $833 billion failed stimulus (Roll Call , 2/13/09). Now, China owns $1.15 trillion of our debt and Ann Kirkpatrick's stimulus also sent jobs overseas to them.
"With Ann Kirkpatrick, China gets the best of both worlds – they own our debt and we fund their jobs,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay."As our debt skyrockets and America’s unemployment remains unacceptably high, will Kirkpatrick continue to champion her party’s wasteful spending addiction as countries like China benefit?”

China owns $1.15 trillion in American debt. (“Major Foreign Holders of Treasury Securities,” U.S. Department of the Treasury, 9/18/2012)

Under President Obama, the national debt has increased by an astonishing $5.38 trillion. (“The Daily History of the Debt Results,” Bureau of the Public Debt, Accessed 9/18/2012)

Some of Washington Democrats’ stimulus funds went to creating jobs in China, along with other foreign countries:
"As we know from Choma’s exhaustive research, it is true that foreign-owned companies have received $2.4 billion in grants to build wind farms in the U.S. Choma gives this breakdown: ... China, $2.6 million. ... Choma wrote: ‘...we can’t say for sure how much of this stimulus money went to create jobs in China. Some money definitely did...” (Eugene Kiely, Lara Seligman, Lauren Hitt and Melissa Siegel,"Stimulus Jobs in China?,”FactCheck.org, 10/29/2010)

hightailing it again in AZ01

@Ann_Kirkpatrick As you may have seen, Ann Kirkpatrick is up with a new ad bragging about how she"keeps her foot on the gas.”

Yeah, Ann, we know.

This ad isn’t the first time she’s hit the gas on her SUV.

Kirkpatrick is probably best known for walking out of a constituent meeting because she didn’t want to talk about her support for ObamaCare.

Thanks for the reminder, Ann.

NRCC COMMENT:"Ann Kirkpatrick sure knows how to hightail it out of facing her record of supporting Washington’s failed policies. Arizona voters already hit the brakes two ago on Kirkpatrick’s tax and spend joy ride, and they are ready to do it again in November.” – NRCC Spokesman Daniel Scarpinato

America Slips Under @Ann_Kirkpatrick's Party’s Policies as China Rises in Global Competitiveness AZ01

Thanks to Exploding Debt, America Fails to Encourage Confidence and Falls in Global Market Rankings

WASHINGTON --- Thanks to Ann Kirkpatrick's out-of-control spending addiction when in Washington, and namely her vote for a failed $833 billion stimulus package (Roll Call , 2/13/09), our dangerously high national debt is blocking American economic recovery. Not only have Americans struggled to find confidence in Ann Kirkpatrick and her party’s fiscally irresponsible policies, now that same lack of confidence pervades international markets, forcing America to fall as countries like China rise in global competitiveness rankings.
"Due to Ann Kirkpatrick's and her party’s spending habits, America’s economic growth is stagnant, causing our global competitiveness ranking to fall yet again as China’s continues to climb,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay."American families and small business owners won’t allow Kirkpatrick to let America slip as a dominant global economy while countries like China continue to leave us in the dust.”

A recent survey says China is building momentum and emerging as a new force in international markets as America falls again for the fourth year in a row under Obama’s taxing, spending, and borrowing agenda:
"The United States' ability to compete on the global stage has fallen for the fourth year running as confidence in the country's politicians continues to decline, an annual survey from the World Economic Forum found Wednesday.”
"Elsewhere, the Forum found that leading emerging economies are displaying different performances. China, at 29th place, has risen in the rankings and leads the group, while Brazil has moved up to 48th.” (Pan Pylas,"Survey Finds US Competitive Ranking Down Again,” Associated Press, 9/5/2012)
